Riders to the sea- J. M. Synge
I designed the stage for John Millington Synge’s “Riders to the Sea”, a one-act play as site-specific theatre, is builded on the natural terrain of the Giant’s Causeway. Choosing the iconic natural landscape of Ireland, the author’s homeland and the location where the play was written, tens of thousands of hexagonal stone pillars of the Giant’s Path are formed in nature. In the play, the author wants the audience to think about the interplay between man and nature. Its huge taupe stone clumps add tension, solemnity and sharpness to the scene.
